A Team Pep Talk

It's a wet day here today and that's just perfect for work. There's something about a wet day ... even here where the rain is warm ... that just encourages you to stay indoors and work work work.

And after Steve and I have hit our favorite café for an early coffee and he's dropped me off at the office that's just what I plan to do. There's just so much work around that I'm still looking for some way of cloning myself.

If you're fairly new to this business or you're thinking of starting here in adult online because you've heard that this is where the easy money is then you could be sadly disappointed by what you find here or what you're already experiencing.

For some reason this industry still has the image of being a place where you can make money with very little effort and sadly easy money in this industry hasn't been the case for quite a few years now. However I have a feeling that if you are prepared to put in a lot of effort then this will be somewhere you can make money ... even in the bad times.

Of course sales are going to be down as people lose more and more of their disposable income but, if there's one thing that the adult industry in the real world taught me, it doesn't matter how bad times really are people are still going to want to have sex. That means that our products are still going to be in demand

But it doesn't mean that you won't have to work to make money selling our products. In fact in times like this you're going to have to work even harder if you want to succeed. In the adult industry in the real world these are the times when you need to advertise more ... you need to get your message and what you're offering out there in front of the eyeballs of all those sex-hungry consumers. And you go on doing that day after day after day.

It's the same here; you need to get your marketing message out there in front of every porn surfer you can find. You need to show him what he's missing out on and you need to convince him that the only way to get the really good stuff is by paying for it.

There's no easy way of doing that ... there's no silver bullet ... and there's no shortcut to success. As one very successful mainstream affiliate marketer pointed out today, 'looking for them wastes time, wastes money and potentially wastes opportunity that you might never be faced with again.'

It's just plain hard work and if you want to be successful you need to understand that. You also need to understand that it takes money. Businesses out there in the real world understand that you have to spend money to make money ... even if you're selling sex out there in the real world you have to spend money to do it.

So please don't fall into the trap of thinking that you don't have to invest any money in your business here online. You do have to spend money and while you may not be spending it on advertising your free sites and galleries you do have to spend it on traffic, content and good hosting.

And as I said before, now is the time to really get out there and push your products. Of course you're going to see lots of people back off with their marketing in tough times like these. Right now I'm looking at a headline in one of Australia's major daily newspapers that tells me that online advertising is tanking. Businesses are backing away from it ... and boy are they making a major mistake.

Now is the time for mainstream businesses to be increasing their online advertising for more and more people are going to be looking for entertainment at home ... and online. And that's where they'll see the advertising both for mainstream and adult.

So if you're really serious about making a success here in online adult and you're ready to work hard then now is the time to do it because so many who come into this industry aren't prepared to work hard. Sure they want the money but they don't want to work for it.

And now after that little pep talk to the team I'm off for that first cup of coffee and later today I'm going to work on an AVS site in the middle of doing other things. It's a long time since I've done one but it's been an itch that needed scratching for months.
