Another Way to Market Your Products

When you become an adult webmaster it's very easy to quickly get stuck in a rut when it comes to marketing and feel that there's no other way of selling your product.

It's easy to think that the only way to sell your product is via free sites, galleries and variations on those themes but there are other ways of getting your message across and you only have to look at mainstream marketing to see some of those ways.

Now I have to admit that I'm not a big fan of television ... to me it's mostly mind-numbing rubbish that I don't want to waste my time with. Sure there are a few drama series and documentaries that I like to watch but I can't stand the infomercial programs that run during morning and late-night time slots.

To me those programs have got to be the absolute pits and I would rate them as somewhere below the daily soap operas that fill up afternoon television but marketers love them. Marketers and the people who produce the items that are featured on those sort of programs make huge amounts of money from them.

These infomercial programs alert viewers to problems that they didn't know they had. They then show viewers some examples of people who are afflicted with that problem ... cool people ... people who appear to be the sort of person the viewer wants to be. Then the infomercials show how those cool people found a solution to that major problem and how easy it was to integrate the solution into their lifestyle.

Once they've shown the viewers the problem and the solution they then show just how easy it is for the viewers to get the solution to the same problem ... that problem that they didn't know they had. It might have been a problem they didn't know they had but by God they do have that problem and now they have the solution ... gee those people who make the product are just wonderful aren't they?

And then they hit them with the price ... it's so incredibly low and just to make it easier that incredibly low price has been cut into two ... three ... or four ... or even more incredibly low installments. And all the person with the problem has to do to get the solution to their problem is pick up the phone ... reach for their plastic ... and the problem they didn't know they had will be solved as soon as the Fedex man can get to their front door.

Come in sucker. (Do I sound cynical?)

For the marketer it's that easy ... it's a formula that they can rinse and repeat again and again and again and people go on buying that junk.

In another life my partner had a job that often took him into the homes of people who avidly watched those infomercials day after day and he couldn't help noticing how many of the products that sell on those programs were stuffed in corners of many houses.

People bought them and many never even bothered to use them ... not even once. Others bought them ... used them several times ... and then put them aside.

So obviously that form of marketing works ... on television ... but can it work online?

Well there are some who think it can and there's a website out there that can give you some tips on what you need to do if you want to try that infomercial type of advertising online. Head over to cdmginc.com and scroll down a bit and you'll find a lot of links to interesting marketing tips.

Of course the site is geared towards mainstream marketing but there's no reason why it wouldn't work for adult related products either. If you've seen some of those infomercial programs on television then you're probably thinking of products like pills, potions, sex toys and maybe even penis extenders and you could do very well using the infomercial technique to sell those products but don't limit yourself to just those items.

Be creative ... look at the formula that those infomercial programs use and think about how you could apply that formula to selling paysite memberships too. It can be done and if you're creative you could end up making some nice sales.

Obviously you're going to have some problems getting traffic to your site because the idea of an infomercial is going to be a little hard for link lists to come to grips with so don't be afraid to build some free sites that do nothing but advertise your infomercials. That way you'll get traffic to your infomercials and you can then send them on to your sponsors.

Spend some time looking through that marketing site that I just mentioned too ... you may well find some other tips on different ways to market your products online and that would be a real plus for you because there's always more than one way to get your message across to people who want to hear it.
