Are You Looking to the Future?

Monday is here and thanks to a few of our clients we're looking at a very interesting week ahead of us and we're also going to be working around the edges of a few of our own projects too.

While our own projects may not bring us much in the way of money in the short term we're looking further ahead to a time when things may be a little different to what they're like right now.

So what's ahead of you? Are you only thinking about what you're going to be doing this week? Next week? Next month? Or are you thinking about what's ahead of you next year or even further out than that?

Are you thinking about changing the direction of your business or are you thinking that you'll stay just the same and go on marketing your adult products in just the same way as you've always done?

I know that in the last few years quite a few people who started in the industry at the same time Steve and I did have found the going rather tough. They're traffic has dropped off ... their sales have dropped off ... and they have really started to struggle. They found that the formula for getting sales and making money that had always worked for them in the past had suddenly stopped working.

In reality it hadn't been a sudden change at all ... the warning signs had always been there but those who were now experiencing hard times had failed to heed those warnings. And those warnings are still there ... even to this day ... and they're just as relevant as they have always been.

So are you paying attention to the warning signs? Do you even know what the warning signs are and do you know what those warning signs are telling you?

Well let's cut to the chase ... if you have any common sense you know what the signs are ... but the message may have escaped you. The message is really quite simple but it's one that's easy to ignore ... especially if you've become comfortable with what you do and the way you do it.

The simple message that has always been with us is just this ... things change ... people change ... society changes ... and if we don't change with people and society then we get left behind.

That's the simple message that we so often ignore. As everything around us changes we fall behind if we don't keep up with those changes. But if you want to succeed in this industry you have to do more than just keep up with the changes.

If you want to do more than just survive in any online industry you have to be out there on the cutting edge ... you have to be taking a few risks ... be prepared to fail occasionally ... you have to be prepared to innovate instead of just emulate.

You have to be the person who leads the way instead of just being the person who copies the next guy. If you want to make serious money in this industry you have to be the person that everyone else wants to copy and you have to be prepared to think on your feet and take advantage of opportunities as they arise.

For example, if you're thinking of moving into something like mobile porn then don't let me stop you ... there's still money to be made in mobile porn ... but the competition is a lot tougher than it was in the beginning.

Now you're going to be sharing the proceeds of mobile porn with hundreds of other guys so you will make money but you won't be making as much money as the first guy who took porn to mobile devices. While you're competing with a lot of others for the mobile porn dollar the first guy who was in that marketplace has made his money and he's already moving on to something else.

So if you're thinking about hitting the big time in this industry you really do need to be looking beyond the next day ... the next week ... the next month ... you need to be thinking about what the next big thing is going to be and you need to be positioning yourself to be the first person in that marketplace.

If you can do that then your future may look a whole lot better than if you stayed as one of the followers ... one of the guys who emulated instead of innovated.
