Have You Tried Online Dating?

It's Monday and quite frankly it's great to be back at work. That's not to say that I didn't work over the weekend because I did but somehow the pace isn't quite as hectic today as it was on either Saturday or Sunday.

Instead of the phone ringing and clients emailing me late into the night as happened on the weekend I can sit here in the office today and work with hardly any interruptions at all. Hmmm something tells me that I need to embark on an education program for those clients who want to contact me on weekends but don't want to bother me on week days.

Things have been so quiet today that I've even had a chance to read an online newspaper while I had a cup of coffee and apart from all the reports of wars, economic woes and political bickering between the major parties in this country there was a very interesting piece about dating online.

It seems that here in Australia one in four people have used the Internet to find a partner and another 38 per cent are seriously considering using online dating. A survey conducted by one of the major mainstream dating sites in this country found that 62 per cent of those who had tried online dating had actually dated someone they met online.

So have you tried online dating?

Now that question can be taken two ways and both answers should be of interest to you. Have you tried promoting online dating? There are certainly plenty of adult dating sponsors out there that are always looking for affiliates to promote their dating sites and it really is easy to promote those sites.

You don't have to build sites just for the purpose of promoting online dating sponsors ... although some people do and have developed a very nice income stream from them. It is quite possible to develop your own income stream simply by adding some dating links as a secondary advertiser on the sites that you're building.

These days though I think I would be looking at building some sites that use dating sponsors as the primary focus for your marketing. It's not hard to take a few images that your dating sponsor provides and then writing a short dating story around those images. That's what one very smart marketer has done for quite a few years and it certainly works well for him.

Alternatively you could develop an expanding site that you fill out with short dating stories, dating tips and hints as well as promo images supplied by your sponsor. If you took some time with a site like that you could find that it would do very well in search engines.

Don't be put off by the thought that you might have trouble finding content for a dating site. You can write your own dating tips and hints ... anyone can do it ... because they really are only common sense and if you've tried online dating yourself then you have your own experiences to call on.

If you encouraged people to bookmark the site and made it easy for them to tell their friends about the site you could end up with a real traffic pump that could keep you supplied with dating traffic for a long time to come. Add the ability for some regulars to add their own experiences to the site ... the buzz-word here is ‘user-generated content' then you're really going to fill your site out with content that will attract even more people.

With so many people wanting to try online dating you would have to be crazy not to try a few of the ideas I've suggested here and go on to develop them further. If one in every four surfers who visit your site is interested in online dating can you really let those people go through your sites without showing them some marketing for online dating?

So if you haven't tried online dating before then now is the time to see if you can't encourage some of those lonely and horny people to sign up for your dating sponsor and have some fun.

You never know, you just might find that promoting online dating brings in far more money right now than any other form of adult marketing. Sure, there might be a lot of free porn out there these days but there aren't too many free dating sites.
