I've always been one to encourage others to do that strange thing often referred to as 'thinking outside the box' ... to be innovative ...to be out there on the cutting edge if you really want to make money here in this industry.

It's when you're doing something different ... rather than doing what everyone else is doing ... that you stand the best chance of making some real money. And while everyone is rushing to copy what you've done you can then move on and leave everyone else to fight over the crumbs you've left behind.

But if you're new to the industry it can be hard to think outside of the box when you're still struggling to find what the space inside the box is like and how things actually work in the box. However that doesn't mean that you can't make money and it doesn't mean that you can get tangled up trying to do exactly what everyone one else is doing.

Quite often the thundering herds of people who want to copy what someone else has done are so focused on replicating the leader's success that they follow blindly. They can see what the innovator has done and they think that the quickest and best way to make money is simply by producing clones of what the guy with the ideas produced ... and that's where so many of them miss something very important.

By producing exact clones the thundering herds are missing the opportunity to take what the innovator has done and maybe do it better. There are always better ways of doing something that has been done before and sometimes doing it better can make more money than might be made by simply regurgitating what has already proved successful.

So if you're new here ... well new enough to have made your first dozen sales ... perhaps it's time to start looking around at what others have done and seeing if you can't do it better.

But don't get me wrong here ... don't give up your day job of building free sites and galleries to launch out in a new direction. You have to keep your cash-flow happening and stopping everything else to concentrate on something different is definitely not going to keep the money coming in. Instead spend a little bit of time each day look at what others have done and thinking about ways of doing it better.

When you've identified something that you can do better then start spending a little time developing that project and only turn your full attention to it once it's generating as much income as your free site and gallery building efforts generate.

So what should you be looking for? Well let's face it ... link lists and TGPs have been done to death and I doubt that there is a 'better' way of doing those that hasn't been done many times before. Now I'm not saying you shouldn't build your own link lists and TGPs but for a project such as we're talking about here those links lists and TGPs are definitely still within the box.

And while you're looking and thinking about what to do outside that box don't just look at what's happening here in adult ... take a look outside at mainstream too. Is there something out there that you can import into adult?

Look at what's happening on other forms of media too ... you never know where you might see something that really brings on one of those light bulb moments.

Yesterday I was reading some news online when I saw a report of a girl flashing her boobs in public. There was nothing very serious in the story but just before reading that story I had been looking at one of Steve's mainstream projects and suddenly the light bulb went on.

Now all I have to do is find the time to turn that light bulb moment into a website. Of course I'm sure it's been done before ... although I've never actually seen it anywhere on the Web ... but even if it has been done before I know that I can do it better.

If I can do it better then I should be able to attract a lot of traffic and I've always known what to do with traffic. However I'm not going to rush into it ... if we decide to go ahead with it we will build it up slowly and when it begins to generate some serious income then we'll think about dropping something that doesn't make as much money.

So what you can you see out there that you can do better?
