Why Has No One Ever Thought of This Before?

It's all about making money

Does the name Jeremy Shoemaker mean anything to you? What about Aaron Wall or Dave Taylor? If all those names have done nothing but draw a blank with you then it's almost certain that you have yet to spend some time over on the mainstream side of the marketing fence.

You see, those guys are almost household names in mainstream marketing circles - especially the circles inhabited by mainstream affiliate marketers who equate to the likes of you and me here in adult. These are just some of the guys who make serious money from mainstream marketing and SEO and Dave Taylor has even written several books on the subject.

So why am I talking about them here and what have they thought of that no one else has ever thought of? Well these guys have found a new way of making serious money from what they know and it's called Elite Retreat.

For two days they are going to take around 30 web entrepreneurs (their description not mine) and have a 'high value, high powered, two-day brainstorming/masterminding event that can change your business'. If you were to attend you would find that 'you are facing the 4 leaders and listening as they brainstorm with you, answer questions (and) cover hot topics.'

It all sounds very interesting and I am sure that anyone who attends will have an incredible chance to learn and go on to make money from what they have learned. I would certainly hope that they did get some return on the investment that is required to attend the retreat because it's going to be quite an investment.

If you want to attend the two day retreat then it's going to set you back a cool $4,850 and if you want to attend a private dinner with the leaders the night before you can add another $500.00 into the equation.

Would it be worth it? I have to admit that I really do think it would be worth attending.

But it leaves me wondering why no one has bothered to try something like that here in adult. Sure there have been weekends with Voltar but somehow I don't think that quite reaches the same level as the Elite Retreat. So why hasn't anyone tried it here?

It's not as if we don't have people who on the same level in adult as these guys are in mainstream because we do. For starters there are people like Wired Guy and XXXJay who could talk forever about search engine optimization.

I could think of several different people who could provide plenty of input on pay per click advertising. We also have plenty of talented people who could talk about design, content and any of the other things that adult webmasters need to understand to maximize their returns. And every one of those people would be worth a registration fee of around the same level as the mainstream guys are asking for the Elite Retreat.

So why has no one tried it here before? Perhaps we're too interested in partying and putting on a show for everyone else. Perhaps we are so cemented into the view that everything should come cheap that no one would pay the costs. Perhaps it's just another case of mainstream being way out in front of adult.

Still, it would be interesting to try it and see what might happen.

Google's latest purchase
Before I head off for the day and think about some real work - it's a beautiful day and the beach is calling loudly - I just want to mention Google's latest purchase. If you haven't thought about it already then start thinking about the ramifications of what we are seeing here.

Think in terms of Google's move into video, Google's extension of its search engine technology, that I talked about the other day, and now we have Google's purchase of a wiki technology that will allow the HTML challenged to build their own web pages.

Slowly the elite group of people who could build web pages are losing their elite status. Soon everyone will be able to do what so few of us can do now and their web pages will look a whole lot better than what we could build just a few years ago.

Even though there is an impending erosion of our position as Webmasters there is still some great opportunities to make money from what Google is, and intends, doing in the near future. All we have to be is ready to grab the opportunities with both hands and run with them.
