Now there's a word you don't expect to see on a website focused on adult webmasters. You wouldn't expect to see other words and terms like cash flow and return on investment either because they're too heavy and adult webmasters aren't interested in heavy topics are they?
We only want to talk about tits and ass, boobs and pussy, cum and orgasms. Those are the fun things that attracted us to this industry aren't they so who wants to thing about serious business shit? Being an adult webmaster isn't a serious business is it?
Well sadly, if you want to survive in this industry then you have to take it seriously. Sure you can have fun with tits and ass but, if you want to be here for the long term, then you have to start taking this business seriously. If you don't then you'll crash and burn and in six months' time no one here will even remember your name.
So today let's talk about productivity. It's not a sexy term, it doesn't make people horny and it's not going sell more product but it will give you the ability to sell more product because it will give you the chance to achieve more in the same amount of time. You might be producing x in a 10 hour day now but if you look at the way you do things and what you can do to become more productive you can increase your output by 2x or even 3x in those same 10 hours
So what should you look at? Let's start by looking at those 10 hours and getting a firm grip on exactly how much of those 10 hours you're using to actually work and how much time you're wasting on stuff that doesn't really matter.
Of course we all think that we're working hard when we sit in front of our computer for 10 hours but start looking at how much time you spend looking at places like GFY? How much time do you spend chatting with other webmasters via Twitter and other messaging apps? How much time do you spend surfing the Net and just getting off on the porn that you should be selling? Add up all that time and you may be surprised to find that you may be wasting more than half of those 10 hours a day.
Obviously, we all need to take breaks. We can't work for 10 hours straight but when those breaks begin to take up more of your time than you spend working then you need to cut back on them ... and you need to cut back on the distractions that are filling in those breaks.
By all means, take breaks ... take regular breaks ... but schedule them and stick to that schedule. Turn off the distractions that keep pulling you away from your work. Close down Twitter and Facebook so that they don't distract you and remember that every time you stop to look at free porn it's not really free. In your situation every time you stop to look at porn you're doing it on your time and you're not making any money while you're doing it.
So cut out the distractions and set yourself a timetable that factors in regular breaks but also gives you plenty of work time to focus on. Print your timetable and stick it up on the wall where you can see it and almost become a slave to that timetable. Get into the habit of working to that timetable and before long you won't even need to look at it to stay focused.
You should also look at the way you do things. If you build galleries do you build them one at a time? Do you grab 20 or 30 images, resize them and then build a gallery around them? If you do that then you're definitely wasting a heap of time.
Over in mainstream there's a guy who churns out a 30 to 40 minute podcast, where he interviews successful people, seven days a week and at the same time he is constantly building out other parts of his business empire. Now a 30 minute podcast takes a lot longer than 30 minutes to put together so how does he manage to do that seven days a week and still have time for other things?
He batch processes everything. He does a week's worth of interviews on just one day a week and he batches everything else that he does too and that's the way you have to do what you're doing.
Another podcaster does a 10 minute podcast five days a week and he records a week's worth in around an hour on a Sunday night and then ships them off to his virtual assistant who batches her work as she drops them into the program template and gets all her work done in one sitting.
Sure, not everything can be batched but there are a hell of a lot of things adult webmasters do that can be batched. Why can't you batch process a week's worth of images in one hit? Why can't you have a bunch of gallery templates that you automatically drop the batched images into so that you're not building an individual gallery every day?
You might still have to submit them one day at a time but you will have them ready to go and more free time that you can use to focus on building your empire.
Productivity may not be sexy but it can help you make a lot more money so start thinking about how you can be more productive. It's the guys who are productive who have been in this industry the longest and they're the ones who are making the real money. Don't you want to be one of them?
