So You Feel Like Quitting?

Isn't it strange? A very large proportion of the population all think that heaven is working for yourself ... being the person in charge of your future ... the captain of your own fate. They all want it because they want to be independent.

For some it's just a dream that they never quite get to fulfil while for others it becomes an obsession ... something that they just can't leave alone ... they've got to have it and they won't be happy till they achieve that goal.

There are all those people striving for a dream and yet when they get to where they want to be the dream turns into a nightmare. They find that it's tough working for yourself ... you work longer and harder than you ever did when you worked for someone else.

The bills keep coming but the income doesn't always follow suit when you work for yourself. No matter how hard you work you don't always see the reward that you saw when you worked for someone else. Sooner or later the idea of working for yourself loses the attraction it once had and you begin to look back at your days as an employee and wish you were back there.

If that's what you're feeling now then let me tell you that it's quite common to feel that way. It's quite common to think that you were chasing a mirage when you used to dream of working for yourself. You've had enough ... you're tired ... you want to quit.

Well if that's what you're thinking of doing then don't let me stop you ... go ahead and do it ... quit ... walk away ... go back to working for someone else. Chances are that you won't be happy when you do that either.

Sure, at first there will be some relief that you're getting a regular income again but the chances are that sooner rather than later you'll want to be back working for yourself. Those long hours you used to work will seem worth it simply because you'll be doing something for yourself.

So if there's going to be that desire to come back to work for yourself why quit in the first place? Did you know that most people who quit do so when they're right on the cusp of finally being successful? It's true ... you could be just days away from achieving the goals you wanted so why quit now?

Of course right now you're struggling but you can turn things around. If you're one of those who have tried everything and nothing seemed to work then perhaps you've tried too many things. Have you jumped from one niche or fetish to another without spending much time on any one of them?

As I just said, you've probably tried too many and it's time to go back and look at which niche or fetish seemed to give you the most success. Don't look at what others are doing or bragging about ... look at the ones that were more successful for you than all the others ... look at the ones that really turn you on too.

Chances are that what turns you on and what gave you a hint of success are the same thing so go back to that niche or short range of niches. See what marketing methods or site designs were beginning to work for you before you either jumped ship to another niche or the sales you were getting began to fall away.

See what changed ... what did you do differently that made the sales begin to fade? Identify that and you'll be able to see what you need to go back to. Once you have some point to go back to work on developing that ... and understand that developing is not the same as changing.

If something was beginning to work for you look to see if you can find reasons why it never grew into something that was important for you. Would a better design help? Would more traffic increase your sales? Would better content move you over the tipping point?

Instead of quitting take a deep breath and jump back into the business ... but this time use your brain to work with what's right for you rather than running after every passing fad.

If you've tried everything and you're ready to quite then focus on what almost worked for you and push harder with it. When you do that the money will start rolling in and you'll forget that you ever considered quitting.
