The End is Near

Well we're into the last month of the summer slowdown and it's obviously been a bad summer for some. It's not only been bad for us here in online adult; in other parts of the adult entertainment world people are complaining about falling sales too. It seems that the adult video industry is one area that is really feeling the pinch.

So what can you do to overcome any slump in your sales here online? I offered a few suggestions back at the start of the northern summer and maybe it's time to reinforce those suggestions. It might even be something that could work for other parts of the adult industry ... you just never know.

Back at the beginning of summer I suggested that you really start to drill down from just plain vanilla hardcore surface levels that lots of affiliates promote and start mining the depths of niche. When you take your surfers down there you're taking them to a whole new level of fantasy and porn that will really appeal to them and make them want to see more.

I mean why keep showing your surfers the same old thing time after time. Once you've seen a hundred couples fucking you've seen just about all there is to see ... there's nothing new ... there's nothing interesting ... it's just the same old boring action you've seen a hundred times before and you begin to become bored. Now if you're becoming bored by it then so are your surfers so go niche, show them something different and exciting and you'll rekindle their interests.

If you're really keen to make money you'll go even deeper and take them down to a micro-niche level where things really start to get kinky. Some years ago now while lots of people were still promoting generalized porn like hardcore and gay we got together with a friend of ours and started promoting the gay toy niche.

At that time, even though there was only one site that was covering that area we made a lot of money. Today there still aren't many gay toying sites around so that may continue be a good niche to cover. Another gay niche that doesn't have a lot of exposure is cum swapping. It's probably been overdone in the straight area but there are not many sites that cover that in gay.

If you don't promote gay then have a look around in the straight sex area. You'll find plenty of micro niches there just begging you to promote them. Of course many of those micro niches aren't covered by the big sponsors so you're going to have to go digging for the smaller sponsors who do produce micro niche sites.

If you don't know where to look for a full list of sponsors and all the sites they produce then check out Masterzone X. That site has just about every sponsor and every one of their sites listed and you will find heaps of micro niche sites there.

If you're feeling lazy and you don't want to go looking for micro niche sites then perhaps spend some time checking out some of the genuine amateur sites. These are sites that are run by solo girls who let the surfer look straight into their lives and enjoy the wild lifestyle that the girls live.

There are plenty of them out there and there's even one or two pornstars who genuinely run their own sites. Lisa Sparxxx has been in the news lately and has just won the Booble Girl of the Year contest so her site might be worth promoting. Pornstars always appeal to surfers and she is one pornstar who genuinely interacts with her members so there's some added appeal.

Another niche that is always very popular with surfers is swingers. Guys love to fantasize about swinging but they rarely get to turn their dreams into reality so it's not hard to sell them on swinger sites ... especially swinger sites that feature a real female who interacts with her members.

Look for some solo girl sites that also include other popular niches because those will all sell well too. Most of those sites pay on a recurring basis and you will find that is definitely a plus for your bottom line.

Obviously the initial payment isn't as large as a pay-per-signup program but those solo girl sites tend to retain members for a very long time. That means that every month you're going to get more money from that one sale and it doesn't take long for that recurring income to reach the point where it's more than what you would have received for a once-off payment.

So there are just a few more suggestions on to survive the rest of the summer and if you keep building on those suggestions then you could survive next summer in much better shape.
