Think Big to Make Money

Over the years Steve and I have both encountered newbies who thought that all it was going to take to make money was just one site.

It was only a year or two ago that Steve spent several days walking a complete newbie through the construction of his first TGP gallery. When the gallery was finished and submitted he asked Steve what he should do next and was rather disappointed when Steve told him that the very next thing he should do was build another gallery ... and another ... and another day after day, week after week and month after month.

Needless to say that newbie is no longer in the industry and never even got round to building his second gallery.

Now if you're a newbie who thinks that just one site is all it's going to take to make your fortune here in adult online then I'm sorry to disappoint you. The fact is that once you've built one gallery or free site then you have to go on building more and more.

Of course as you build more and more you're not simply turning out clones of the first site or gallery you every built. Instead you go on developing your marketing skills so that each site or gallery is an improvement on the last but the key is that you don't just stop.

The more sites and galleries you have out there the more chance you have of making real money. I would have thought that concept was fairly obvious but it does seem to escape some people so look at it this way; if you have one site making one sale a month you could be making $35.00 a month.

With ten sites making one sale a month you could be making $350 a month. With a hundred sites ... well I'll let you do the math and I'm sure you'll see where my argument is heading.

The concept is simple really, the more sites you have out there the more chance you have of making money and that's a concept that is clearly understood by some people over in mainstream. Just today there was an article in Clickz News about a company that is launching 100,000 generic sites.

That's right, 100,000 sites spread across 200,000 domains with 31 million unique IP addresses. For the last year or so most of those sites have been displaying nothing but ads as the company has quietly gone about developing their network but now those sites have changed.

Instead of ads those sites are now displaying local business listings, reviews and local search interfaces and they could be on the verge of taking complete control of the local search area. While many of us have worked at developing a local directory for where we live these people have done it on a scale that most of us could never even dream of.

Now if a person hits one of their sites looking for local information they can also follow a search trail right across America ... and even further a field. With access to all that information why would anyone want to look beyond that network of sites?

Now of course these people have jumped in at the deep end and have obviously invested a huge amount of money into what they've been doing but it's still helpful to contrast what they've done with that poor newbie who thought he could make money with just one gallery.

Sadly that's never going to happen. Sure it might have worked some years ago but those days are gone and now you have to be prepared to develop your own network of sites if you want to have any hope of ever competing with the serious players.

Obviously the scale of the network you need to succeed probably depends on the popularity of the niche you're working in ... and the number of others who are already in there working that niche. And how you develop that network is also very important. Regardless of whether your building galleries or free sites you need to be feeding those into your network.

There was a time when quite a few people making money from TGP galleries would simply rely on traffic from the TGPs they submitted their galleries to. After a while, when that traffic dried up to a gallery, the webmaster would simply remove it from the Web.

I would suggest that these days such an approach is a little short-sighted. Instead of removing all those galleries it would be far better to inter-link them via hubs and your own personal TGPs and once you start doing that you're on your way to developing your own network of sites.

The same concept can be applied to any free sites you build and there's not reason why you can't mix your free sites in with your galleries on your own network.

These days you do have to think big if you want to make serious money in this industry and the place to start is with your own galleries and free sites.
