Two Marketing Tips to Increase Your Sales

So you want to make a living as an adult webmaster? You want to spend all day posting porn images on the Web and you want to get to the point where bucket-loads of money are pouring into your bank account thanks to all those memberships you're selling in your sponsor's sites?

Well I have to tell you that it can be done. Even today, when times are tough and there's plenty of free porn around, you can make money selling memberships in adult sites. Of course it's not as easy as it once was and if you're just starting out you're yet to find that it's not as easy as you think it is.

But it can be done. You can make a very comfortable living here if only you're prepared to learn the basics of how to sell ... how to design a website that sells ... and how to survive until you do.

Now there's been plenty of great advice written over the years for newcomers to this industry and there are still some good webmaster forums out there that can help newcomers get a start here so I'm not going to try and regurgitate all that information here. It would be far too much information for one article and, even though several people have been suggesting that it's been way too long since I wrote a series, I'm not about to do that either.

Instead what I'm going to do here is just give you two things to think about. These two things are often overlooked by experienced adult webmasters so newcomers to the industry are unlikely to think about them at all. However, if you want to make serious money here then you better start thinking about them.

Solving a problem
Every good salesman or marketer ... and despite our fancy webmaster titles that's all we are, sales and marketing people ... understands that the easiest way to make a sale is to solve someone's problem.

Everyone has problems and if the product that you're selling has the potential to solve someone's problem then they're far more likely to buy whatever it is that you're selling. Think about that as it might apply to an adult product, consider what a surfer's problem might be and then go out and market your product with the emphasis on how it might solve that surfer's problem.

Don't think for a moment that you can just show a surfer how your product might solve their problem so don't rely totally on images and banners to try and market your solution to their problem. Instead you have to be prepared to use words ... text ... to explain how your product solves their problem.

By all means show them images but have a connection between the images you're showing and the text that you're using.

For example you might be working the big boobs niche and lots of surfers love big boobs so they will have already seen plenty of sites that have promised to give them what they want. Their problem is that they've already been burned by sites that have promised to give them big boob action but have failed to deliver.

So you have to focus on how your sponsor's site delivers what they want and will give them even more of what they want than any other big boob site on the Net. You can show them samples but you need to convince them with the text on your site that your sponsor really does deliver.

They want big boob action and if you can convince them that the site your marketing can solve their problem and give them what they want they'll buy what you're selling.

Get inside their heads
Adult webmasters tend to live a fairly isolated existence. We work from home ... we only ever seem to talk to other adult webmasters ... and God forbid that we should ever mix with those freeloaders who want all the hardcore action they can get without paying a dime for it. We become isolated and live in a world that's far removed from the reality of our market place.

And there's a problem for any marketer ... the moment you become isolated from the people who form your market you lose contact with them. You don't know what they're thinking ... you start missing the point with your sales text and pretty soon your sales are dropping.

So if you want to sell a product to your surfers you need to start thinking like your surfers. You need to get inside their head and get an understanding of what makes them tick and what will, and won't, appeal to them.

When you understand how a surfer thinks and have a grasp of what appeals to him and what will encourage him to buy something he really wasn't planning on buying then you're on your way to making real money ... even in tough times like these.
